Long time no update!

Today I start my full-fledge Paleo diet. If you guys don't know what that is, you can read about it here. My brother and sister-in-law are doing it, and it seems like a great idea. My only problem is avoiding sugar...sigh. I'm hoping by keeping a blog it can help me stay on the right track.

So far today, I had 2 over-easy eggs with salt and pepper for breakfast. Not too shabby, eh? Now even my brother cheats a little bit, so I had a Pepsi Max with it; it's where I get my energy for the day. No calories, no sugar, it doesn't seem too bad. Eventually I'll slowly phase that out but for now...need caffeine.

For lunch/dinner I'm going to be taking a leftover noodle and meat concoction (I know noodles aren't on there either, but don't tell!), salad with oil/balsamic vinegar dressing, and grapes. They frown on eating many fruits, but again it's all natural sugar, and if it'll give me the boost it's well worth it, yes?

I'm also going to get into the habit of not coming home and eating late; that's the problem with working nights. I gotta get all my caloric intake by early afternoon and avoid snacking at work. Biggest pain in the ass.

Tomorrow I'll post my starting weight. I completely forgot this morning as I avoid scales like the plague :/ I'm just embarrassed in myself that all that weight I worked so hard to lose I seemed to have put all back on, and it needs to stop.

I lost about 20 pounds this spring doing a low carb type thing, with lots of exercise. But my biggest problem is also drinking so I gave that up for lent as it seemed like a good time to do it.
It's been hard staying off the booze though and though my weight is stable, I still want to lose like 10 pounds before the middle of august. It's just been too hot to exercise. But too hot to eat, too.

It's really weird that I feel more comfortable at this weight only because I was so much heavier. But it's still far too much.

I think there's some similarities between low carb and paleo.

I feel you on it being too hot. I sometimes still force myself to eat though because I turn into a raving bitch when I don't. It's a vicious cycle lol

And there definitely is. Paleo eliminates basically all carbs, and focuses more on meats and vegetables. Sugar and soda is so far the hardest but I just gotta keep that mindset of how much better I'll feel once the weight's gone.

sugars are by far the hardest... But I get along with coke zero for soda....if that helps. It's not too bad, but I mostly only drink it for caffeine...
coffee with agave and milk works for me as well. Low glycemic? I Think that's the south beach thing ...
I just find the whole "this is what we ate in the paleolithic era" a bit disingenuous...Because they never talk about bugs... it seems.

But whatever works. I'm right there with ya.

No I agree with you there...that's why I pretty much relate it to the Atkins diet, or at least that's how I look at it. Makes me feel a little bit better about myself, I Don't know.
